Wild and Wonderful
Australia is home to a wide variety of animals – like us, they are all shaped by the environment that they live in. From red deserts to coral reefs, wide open plains to lush rainforests – our animals have adapted to their worlds in clever ways.
Australian Coat of Arms
Two animals in the forecourt feature on the Australian Coat of Arms. Can you guess which ones?
Australian Animals
There are eight Australian animals featured in our pavilion. How many have you seen?
Did you know that the father emu sits on the nest and looks after the baby emu chicks when they hatch? And did you know that baby emus are stripey? Did you know that emus only step forwards?

.
Did you know that Indigenous dance is inspired by the movements and characteristics of our native animals? Some of these include grasshoppers, kangaroos, emus, snakes, sharks and crocodiles.

.
Come and say hello to our koala at the stamping station - you might notice she is carrying some important cargo! Koalas can sleep for up to 20 hours a day and mainly eat gum leaves!
