Blossoming Connections
The pavilion design is inspired by the flowering blossom of the iconic Australian eucalyptus tree. The eucalyptus tree, with its many shapes and colours, represents the diversity and dynamism of Australian people. The eucalyptus blossom reflects the vibrancy of our modern Australian society.
Step inside the giant blossoming flower of our eucalyptus gum tree and be immersed in the wonder and awe of our ancient land. Just like Japan’s ‘sakura (cherry blossoms)’, Australia’s eucalyptus blossoms are diverse in their colours and shapes.
How many varieties of eucalyptus do you think are native to Australia?

Sharing stories and making connections has maintained life on the Australian continent for over 60,000 years. Australians call the sharing of stories ‘yarning’.
By sitting and sharing with each other in the ‘yarning circle’, we ensure that knowledge and connection is passed on from generation to generation. Making spaces to do this is what Australians value greatly – sharing and connecting with each other in an expressive ‘Country’.
Who do you like to ‘yarn’ with? Does your family have a tradition of how you pass on knowledge from generation to generation?
