With just 3 days to go until World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai opens its doors, the Australia Pavilion has proudly revealed its new staff uniforms designed by Kirrikin, a 100% Aboriginal-owned social enterprise based in Western Australia.

The new designs celebrate Australia’s unique natural beauty and First Nations heritage, featuring vibrant motifs of iconic Australian flora, including the golden wattle, banksia and eucalyptus blossoms.

The Government of Western Australia, as a Gold Partner of the Australia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka, engaged Kirrikin and Buffie Punch, Noongar Artist, to create these striking designs for the Australia Pavilion uniforms.
Kirrikin and Buffie Punch’s work reflects a deep connection to Country and culture, with each element of the design symbolising resilience, diversity, and the rich ecology of the Australian landscape. The partnership highlights Australia’s commitment to celebrating First Nations excellence on the world stage, while supporting Indigenous-led enterprises.
The uniform design incorporates elements of the vibrant Australia Pavilion logo. The logo reflects the pavilion’s theme of “Chasing the Sun” and was designed by renowned Indigenous-owned creative studio, Balarinji. Taking home gold at the 2025 World Design Awards, the logo design depicts Australians connecting with the world and each other, coming together in a warm spirit of welcome.

The inclusion of the eucalyptus blossom also speaks to the pavilion’s design. The eucalyptus tree, with its many shapes and colours, represents the diversity and dynamism of Australian people. The eucalyptus blossom reflects the vibrancy of our modern Australian society.

The uniforms are made with 100% recycled materials, reflecting how sustainability is at the very heart of the Australia Pavilion at World Expo 2025, Osaka.

“The ancient stories and artwork of Aboriginal people are important, not just to us, but to the rest of our Country. It helps unite us as Australians, and we love that.”
From Buffie Punch, Noongar Artist:
