Experience the spirit and flavour of Country as celebrated Indigenous chef Mindy Woods takes centre stage at the Australia Pavilion from 23rd April to 30th May.
A proud Bundjalung woman of the Widjabul Wia bul clan, Mindy is more than a chef, she’s a cultural ambassador who weaves tradition, history and identity into every dish she creates. As the owner and executive chef of Karkalla, her Byron Bay restaurant, Mindy champions locally-sourced produce and native ingredients to connect people with the world’s oldest living culture through food.
Mindy’s mission is clear: to preserve native ingredients, honour Country, and create deeper connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, one plate at a time.
From 23rd April to 30th May, visitors to the pavilion can experience first-hand the unique blend of cultural storytelling and native cuisine that has made Mindy a household name. With every dish, she shares the ancient wisdom of her people, celebrating Indigenous heritage and promoting environmental sustainability.
Join us at the main stage for Mindy’s live sessions:
23 April: 11:00 am & 6:30 pm
25 April: 4:30 pm
